Women’s Hearts are Affected by Bisphenol A: New Study

A new study reveals that female hearts are particularly susceptible to the effects of BPA. The compound is pervasive and is used to line cans, in water bottles and in other plastic materials. Since BPA mimics estrogen, its effects on adult females are more pronounced than on adult men. According to the new study, BPA can cause heart cells to start beating on their own, which they shouldn’t do without signals from the brain. The results can even be deadly.
